REAL CAUSE OF BITTERNESS

Comments

Excellent point about ‘change’. This was the same cry of Clinton in 1992 and Blair in 1997. While I think Tony Blair made good in many respects, in 1997 I shuddered at this vague, “politics-as-usual” promise. Major handed the guy a strong economy so what was there to change? Go back further and Lange in New Zealand in 1984 used the same tactic. Whenever a politician uses this word, I balk—because it’s usually founded in one having no clue.

Jack-

Thanks for providing a little historical depth to the point.
